5/20/2023 0 Comments Sanditon and other stories![]() It all concludes as you'd expect-proposals, babies, and other happy endings abound for the “good” characters-but with enough cliff-hangers to keep you invested in a season three. With all due respect to Charlotte and her new suitors, Alison's love story carries much of the emotional weight this season, feels the most true to Austen's work, and has a satisfying payoff in the end. Another standout is Rosie Graham as Alison Heywood, Charlotte's impressionable younger sister. That inner conflict is what attracts her to Charles Lockhart (Alexander Vlahos), an eccentric artist who takes up a residency in town, and their dynamic drives much of the season's plot. Wealthier than almost everyone in town yet the daughter of an enslaved woman, she understandably feels like an outsider in many ways. Crystal Clarke is given a lot to work with as Georgiana Lambe, an heiress and the only woman of color among the set. ![]() ![]() She's not the only character in Sanditon whose story arc benefits from season two. Charlotte Heywood (Rose Williams) is intrigued by a new officer who arrives in town. ![]()
